Journalism is intended to empower the voice of the people. With the advent of social media, nearly everyone has become a pseudo-journalist. Additionally, 24×7 news channels are constantly competing to outdo each other, tirelessly hunting for news throughout the year. One of the greatest challenges facing journalists today is reporting the news as it is, without selective bias. Visvamitra salutes the spirit of honest journalists and media houses who enable people to see and read what they ought to, without bias, and with the intention of giving righteousness its due place in society.
Awarded to Societatea Omului Sanatos, Founded by Alexandra Gatej and Oana Igrisan, both established media and communications professionals, “The Society of the Healthy Man” is a community formed around healthy habits, aiming to promote balance in all aspects of modern human life, as well as in their relationship with the surrounding environment. The community platform, followed by thousands, brings top ideas, conversations with well known health, lifestyle personalities, on critical topics for our overall wellbeing.
EXCELLENCE IN MEDICINE
Medical breakthroughs and innovations have significantly shaped the past century. However, it is also an unfortunate reality that during this time, the overall health of the average individual has declined. The prevalence of conditions such as hypertension, diabetes, heart attacks, cancer, and mental health issues has increased. The future of healthcare relies on doctors, practitioners, and physicians who prioritize their
patients’ well-being, resisting the pressures of competition and financial incentives. The Visvamitra Award for Medicine will honor those healthcare professionals for whom patient’s health is of utmost importance.
Awarded To Dr. Mihai Latis, after successfully completing military missions abroad, Col. Dr. Mihai Latis, form the University Emergency Military Hospital “Carol Davila”, has fought COVID and other emergencies for over ten years, there where the battle is the hardest: the emergency room, saving lives in a race against the clock. He described the COVID years as the hardest of his career, but bringing light on the
importance of serving humans.
EXCELLENCE IN ALTERNATIVE MEDICINE
Alternative medicine systems are regaining lost ground today. Ancient systems such as Ayurveda, Siddha, Homeopathy, Naturopathy, Acupuncture, Oriental medicine are a source of traditional knowledge that can help bridge many gaps that currently exist in the world of medicine. Harmony with nature, adherence to a healthy lifestyle, etc, that lies at the core of such traditional systems, are slowly becoming a pivotal part of global healthcare initiatives. The Visvamitra International Award for Alternative Medicine will highlight those who are bringing such ancient systems back to life and working towards the betterment of health for all of mankind.
Awarded To Dr. Valentin Marius Puric has been a Medical Doctor since 1999; since 2002, he has added Alternative Medicine to his practice, improving his mastery of Traditional Chinese Medicine in China, studying Ayurveda in India and practicing in Romania, Spain and other countries. Dr. Puric holds also a master’ degree in Medical Bioengineering and is continuously improving his knowledge to help those in need. He is one of the most appreciated alternative medicine doctors in Bucharest.
EXCELLENCE IN CSR
CSR has over years evolved from being considered an internal voluntary organizational policy to mandatory schemes at regional, national and even transnational levels. In a crude way, it is a form of “Conscious Capitalism” where capitalist corporations become more conscious of the society, the environment that they inherit, leverage and utilize to make their goals happen. The Visvamitra International Award for CSR is reflective of the central principle by which Sage Visvamitra lived. It honours all corporates who are self-aware and dutiful enough to support the society and environment they make use of, every day.
Awarded To Mr. Mihai Mihu, Chairman of the association “Crestem Romania Impreuna” (“We Grow Romania Together”), Mr. Mihu, IT expert, has managed to develop several platforms for the civil society, among which an awarded project “Mall Taranesc”, “Peasants’ Mall”. This is a revolutionary project, unique in Europe, matching the individual farmers offerings with individual customers, at honest and fair prices for their product.

The success of a collective group, be it a small family or a nation of many millions, can be directly drawn from the prosperity and happiness of women in their fold. Sage Visvamitra, is also the giver of the divine Gayatri Mantra, a hymn to the Goddess Gayatri who protects and showers prosperity to all those who worship her. It is a hymn that millions of Hindus all over the world chant each day. In the spirit of the
divine Gayatri, the Visvamitra Award for Women Entrepreneurship will honour women who are living symbols of protection and prosperity to those who depend on them.

Agriculture and Farming are one of the oldest trades that mankind perfected. Agriculture is not just a job but a way of life for farmers. While now readily available in numerous supermarkets, their presence is the culmination of substantial financial and emotional investments made by a dedicated team of individuals driven by passion and commitment.

The origins of Yoga date back to pre-vedic times, thousands of years ago. Yoga is a discipline that goes beyond asanas (or exercises) and is a lifestyle that helps one live in harmony with oneself and the world. Awarded To Sukadev Volker Bretz, born in 1963 in Germany, is a distinguished yoga teacher and the
founder of Yoga Vidya, one of Europe’s leading yoga institutes. Starting yoga and meditation at 16, he trained under Swami Vishnudevananda and later established Yoga Vidya in Germany after a profound mystical experience in India. The institute, known for its holistic approach and the largest ashram outside India, offers extensive training and publishes significant works on yoga. With over 50,000 videos and contributions to numerous scientific studies, Bretz influences millions globally. A lifelong aspirant, he maintains a rigorous spiritual practice, continuously seeking to enhance others’ well-being through yoga.

Awarded To Dr. Manuela Tabaras is the Dean of Law School, Titu Maiorescu University, Bucharest. Passionate of Law, Ms Tabaras is also a Notary Public; nevertheless, since 1999 her passion has been to help generations of Law students grow to become pillars of our society. She helds a PhD in Law and graduate degrees in Psychopedagogy and Commercial Law. She has authored many books and coordinates the editing board of the University
